RE: Personal Accident section of the BDO Insurance Policy.
In the 2004 BDO Annual General Meeting a discussion took
place on the BDO Insurance Policy and the relevant items covered by that Policy.
It was resolved in that discussion to 'terminate' the Personal Accident item
from the BDO Insurance Policy as benefits that could be derived under a claim
were considered to be inadequate - this will take place on 31st August 2004
.
From 1st September 2004 onwards there will be NO BDO insurance
cover for a Personal Accident to any Official or Player.
Each County Secretary must advise all its Officials and registered players
- at County and Super League levels - of this situation before the 31st August
2004.
It is recommended that each individual should also be advised
to check out their own policies and consult their Insurance advisors and determine
if they are already covered or what action would be required to obtain cover
for themselves.

NEW SPONSOR AND NEW VENUE FOR IDL 2004
Rotterdam-based company Tempus Nederland b.v. will be the main sponsor of the International Darts League for the next three years. It will now be known as the Tempus International Darts League.

TEMPUS NEDERLAND BV specialises in the installation, service and maintenance of heating equipment, warm-water supply and boilers. Ad Schoofs, Director of Tempus IDL adds: “It is fantastic to find a successful partner for the tournament like Tempus. With their support we are able to guarantee that the quality and kudos of the tournament will continue to increase during the next three years.”
The Tempus International Darts League will
be played in a new venue, the Silverdome in Zoetemeer from May 8 to 16, 2004
following a severe fire which destroyed the previous venue. Situated some
18 miles from The Hague, the Silverdome is a multi-functional sports arena
with huge capacity.
The players, organisers and officials will be based at the Atlantic Hotel
in Kijkduin as they were last year.
The second major tournament in the British
Darts Organisation Grand Slam Title series of 2004, the Tempus IDL will be
televised by SBS-6, the premier broadcaster of darts in The Netherlands.
